I can go into our stats and see what countries are listening.

Speaker A:

We've got a lot in Chile, in Portugal, South Africa, a lot of international guests, which is awesome.

Speaker A:

And that actually goes right along with our episode today where we have an.

Speaker B:

International athlete of the week, ATA Nation.

Speaker B:

I am super excited to have with us today an international member of ATA Nation and one of the athletes of the week.

Speaker B:

Hey, ma' am, could you introduce yourself for us?

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker C:

I am Daniela Vidal.

Speaker C:

I'm 11 years old and I'm from math.

Speaker C:

My school is Maptai Konda and I'm from Lima, Peru.

Speaker B:

And what belt are you?

Speaker C:

I am brown belt.

Speaker B:

Very good.

Speaker B:

I think you might be the very first one on our show from Peru.

Speaker B:

Now, can you tell us, how did you get started in martial arts and.

Speaker C:

Well, I'm.

Speaker C:

It started when I was 6 years old.

Speaker C:

My parents went to I do a sport, but all the places were closed because of the pandemic.

Speaker C:

But they found Mape Kondo and I do the class and I like it.

Speaker B:

And you've been doing it since then?

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker B:

That's fantastic.

Speaker B:

I love it.

Speaker B:

What's your favorite part of doing Taekwondo?

Speaker C:

My favorite part is forms.

Speaker A:

I love forms.

Speaker A:

Did you.

Speaker B:

I didn't ask you this earlier, so hopefully I don't know the answer.

Speaker B:

Did you go to the Pan Am Championships?

Speaker C:

Yes.

A curveball at you, but when you do your Taekwondo, is there an event that is maybe not your favorite one?

Speaker B:

That's like.

What.

Speaker A:

What does it mean to you to.

Speaker B:

Become a go beyond the belt as an athlete?

Speaker C:

For me, beyond the belt means that no matter the prize, the awards or the medals, it means that you need to put all the effort that you put in your training, in the competence in the competition.

Speaker B:

Oh, I love that.

Speaker B:

I love that.

Speaker B:

That's fantastic.

Speaker B:

Making sure you put everything into.

A great piece of advice for others.

Do you have some friends that you've met at the.

The Taekwondo school there?

Yes, I like it.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And would you have.
